Welcome

Ballycastle is a thriving community and a popular tourist destination. However, many of its residents are leaving the town to do their main food shopping. Our proposals for a state-of-the-art, environmental foodstore on Leyland Road will keep people shopping and investing in Ballycastle, to the benefit of everyone.

We have recently submitted a revised application to the Planning Service, following consultation and feedback from the local community, key stakeholders and elected representatives. We wanted to share these changes with you to give you the opportunity to show your support.

This is your opportunity to contribute to Ballycastle's future - Updated plans November 2010

How we have listened since our last proposal

  • The store will now face the town centre with good pedestrian links.

  • The service yard has been set back and will be screened from view with landscaping and planting

  • There is a clear separation and landscaped area between the store and the residential area

  • Customers visiting the store and those living in the new residential area will have separate entrances

  • The housing area will now only be accessible from Leyland Heights

  • There is a central open space that is for use by residents
